Hi hi, I’m Taisja (they/she) ! I’m a Black and Puerto Rican queer and non-binary human currently studying at Teachers College to pursue my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling.

I was inspired to become a therapist in childhood when I realized that many people that looked like and had the same experiences and identities as me had a hard time expressing the realities of mental health and illness. With that, I have always had a burning desire to bridge the disparities found in less privileged communities.

I’m interested in working with adolescents and young adults in communities related to my identities - queer, gender expansive, black, Afro Caribbean, neurodivergent, and disabled folk. However, if you think we’d be a good fit I would take pleasure in having a consultation. I will be taking a free of size-based stigma, LGBQIA+, Trans, Non-Binary, Kink, BDSM, Poly, Non-Monogamous and sex positive approach. I am eager to work with a wide spectrum of mental health issues.

I believe that everyone is doing the best they can with the tools that they have and I want to help you continue to grow your “toolbox”, yes cliche I know. But honestly, how we work together will be guided by your interests and strengths, and the work we do will move at the pace that feels best to you.
